I really enjoy walking through the streets of my city, I am from the capital of Cuba and here the streets are always very lively. In Havana I always find an interesting place to show, with stories that are often new to me. I really enjoy the Wednesday publications, because through these walks I can take you on a virtual tour through the streets of the city and show you the same things I am observing and discovering.

Me gusta mucho caminar por las calles de mi ciudad, soy de la Capital de Cuba y aquí las calles siempre están muy animadas. En la Habana siempre encuentro un lugar interesante para mostrar, con historias que muchas veces me resultan novedosas. Disfruto mucho las publicaciones de los miércoles, ya que a través de estos paseos puedo llevarlos en un recorrido virtual por las calles de la ciudad y mostrarles las mismas cosas que voy observando y descubriendo.

Although, sometimes I feel like posting something completely different, like a hike in the countryside or some rural place away from the constant hustle and bustle of the city and the crowds of people. Change of scenery is good sometimes. I have to put it on the to-do list, but in the meantime, I will continue to show the places I usually walk and visit, as in today's tour along a stretch of L Street in the Vedado neighborhood, up to the hill where the majestic University of Havana is located.

Aunque, a veces siento deseos de publicar algo completamente diferente, como una excursión por el campo o algún lugar rural alejado del bullicio constante de la ciudad y la multitud de personas. Cambiar de entorno es bueno a veces. Lo tengo que poner en las cosas pendientes a realizar, pero mientras tanto, seguiré mostrando los lugares por los que suelo pasear y visitar, como en el recorrido de hoy por un tramo de la calle L en el Reparto Vedado, hasta la colina donde se encuentra la majestuosa Universidad de La Habana.

I have passed by here many times, I have photographed the University, and I have climbed its more than eighty steps to the top, that's a lot of steps 😫, but I had never stopped to take a picture next to the sculpture of the Alma Mater. This beautiful bronze statue symbolizing wisdom and intellect is the symbol of the University. This time I did not miss the opportunity.

He pasado muchas veces por aquí, he fotografiado la Universidad, y he subido sus más de ochenta escalones hasta la cima, son muchos escalones 😫, pero nunca me había detenido a tomarme una foto junto a la escultura del Alma Mater. Está bella estatua de bronce que simboliza la sabiduría y el intelecto es el símbolo de la Universidad. Esta vez no deje pasar la oportunidad.

From this high point, you can enjoy a panoramic view of San Lázaro Avenue, right in front of the university. A street that has witnessed numerous important events in Cuba's history. Here you will find the Julio Antonio Mella Monument dedicated to one of the university student leaders who played a prominent role in the revolutionary struggles of the last century in Cuba.

Desde este punto elevado, se puede disfrutar de una vista panorámica de la avenida San Lázaro, justo frente a la universidad. Una calle que ha sido testigo de numerosos acontecimientos importantes en la historia de Cuba. Aquí se encuentra el Monumento Julio Antonio Mella dedicado a uno de los líderes estudiantiles universitarios que desempeñó un papel destacado en las luchas revolucionarias del siglo pasado en Cuba.

This large monument houses the ashes of the young revolutionary, assassinated at the age of 25, and pays tribute to his memory.

Este gran monumento alberga las cenizas del joven revolucionario, asesinado a la edad de 25 años, y rinde homenaje a su memoria.

From Calle San Lazaro it is also possible to see the University in its entirety, with its majestic staircase and the Greek Parthenon-inspired design at its entrance.

Desde la Calle San Lázaro también se puede ver la Universidad en su totalidad, con su majestuosa escalinata y el diseño inspirado en el Partenón Griego en su entrada.

This is a walk that I like very much, every time I walk through this place I can't help but stop to admire the University.
